Terms of Service

Last updated: July 6, 2026

1. Agreement

These Terms govern your use of CoverMyCamera, a macOS privacy utility for controlling supported built-in camera and microphone behavior on your Mac. By buying, downloading, installing, or using CoverMyCamera, you agree to these Terms and to our Refund Policy and Privacy Notice.

2. Who We Are

CoverMyCamera is the product name for this macOS privacy utility. For product support, licensing, and privacy questions, contact us at support@covermycamera.app.

3. Product

CoverMyCamera is a one-time purchase digital product. After payment, you receive a license key by email and on our confirmation page. You download and install the macOS app separately. The app is designed for supported macOS versions and supported built-in Apple camera and microphone configurations. Compatibility may vary by hardware, macOS version, system permissions, and future Apple platform changes.

CoverMyCamera requires macOS 26 Tahoe and is designed for built-in camera hardware only.

4. License

Your purchase grants you a personal, non-transferable license to use CoverMyCamera for the current major version (version 1.x). One purchase may be activated on up to three Macs. You may not resell, sublicense, reverse engineer, or redistribute the app except where applicable law gives you rights that cannot be waived.

Lifetime updates apply only within the current major version. A future major version may require a separate purchase.

5. Local Trial

CoverMyCamera may offer a free 24-hour local trial on a Mac. The trial starts only when you choose Start trial in the app's Licensing settings. It is stored locally on that Mac (not via email trial keys or a Creem trial product), lasts 24 hours from that start, and ends automatically. After expiry, full privacy controls require a paid license. Clearing local app data may reset trial state; the trial is provided as-is for evaluation and is not a substitute for a license.

6. Payments

Payments are processed by Creem (Armitage Labs OÜ), our merchant of record. Creem handles checkout, tax calculation, receipts, refunds, and payment support. Your purchase contract for payment purposes is with Creem as described in their Buyer Terms. We do not receive or store your full payment card details. Charges may appear on your statement as Creem.

7. EU Digital Content

If you are a consumer in the European Union, CoverMyCamera is digital content not supplied on a physical medium. By completing your purchase and accessing or activating your license, you expressly request immediate delivery of that digital content and acknowledge that you lose your statutory 14-day right of withdrawal once delivery begins, except where mandatory law provides otherwise.

8. Refunds

Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy. If a purchase is refunded, the associated license may be revoked or deactivated and future activations may be blocked.

9. Chargebacks

If you have a problem with your purchase, contact us at support@covermycamera.app before disputing the charge with your bank or card issuer. We will work with you to resolve purchase issues, including eligible refunds through Creem.

10. Support

We provide product support by email at support@covermycamera.app. We aim to respond to customer requests within 3 business days.

11. No Warranty

CoverMyCamera is provided as is and as available. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

12. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CoverMyCamera will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or business opportunities. Our total liability for any claim relating to CoverMyCamera will not exceed the amount you paid for your license in the twelve months before the claim.

13. Termination

We may revoke or disable your license if you breach these Terms, abuse the licensing system, obtain a refund or chargeback, or use the product fraudulently. You may stop using CoverMyCamera at any time by uninstalling the app.

14. Third-Party Platforms

CoverMyCamera is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Apple Inc. macOS and related marks are trademarks of Apple Inc. Apple may change macOS behavior in ways that affect compatibility.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new last-updated date. Continued use of CoverMyCamera after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable law, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence require otherwise.
